Nothing Interesting On

Image
Something my Dad is bothered about is how there aren't many interesting TV shows on most evenings at the moment, or new episodes of shows released on streaming services. Monday has the Quiz shows, but one of the three they usually have on has finished, while the other two are close to finishing, and then we'll have to go a few months without those before they start up again. And then there's not much on the other days either. I've not got many shows to be invested in at the moment, and I have other ways I can entertain myself, so it never really bothered me when there was nothing interesting on. I don't know what my Dad could do to be less bored in the evenings.

Bag Accessories

Image
My backpack has some badges on it. They were nice badges, but sadly, most of them were ruined by the rain. So I've gotten the idea to replace them with patches because if I remove the badges, there will be holes that will bother me even if they're so small no one can see them, and I also don't want my bag to look too boring. The main problem I have right now is that I can't tell what material it's made from. It does seem synthetic, but there's more than one type of synthetic fabric, right? And I couldn't find any tags or anything to say what it's made from. So I wouldn't want to risk ironing these patches on (although the iron's buried somewhere in a cupboard anyway). So what are my other options? I wouldn't be good at sewing them on, especially with how stiff the bag's fabric is. So I would have to use glue. But which kind? I need a fabric glue that's strong and won't come off in the rain. Where will I find that?

Getting Home More Easily?

Image
I thought I'd try and get home from work training faster today (especially since one of the buses came really late) by getting off the first bus and going to the nearby tram stop. Did it make a difference? Well, it actually took around the same amount of time. The only real difference is that I had more space, and it had more movement that wasn't interrupted by traffic jams and stuff. Maybe I'll try it again tomorrow while remembering which bus it was that I caught so I can see if it arrives before or after the tram does.

The Shortest Cold I've Ever Had

Image
I went to bed a bit earlier than usual last night, after taking a medication that my Stepmother gave me last time I had a cold. It made me tired enough to fall asleep and stay that way for at least 8 hours, and wake up feeling well enough to get up and do things even with that uncomfortable feeling still in my throat and moving over to my nose. So I still went to work training because I was doing garden stuff today, I got some tissue and some sweets containing menthol on the way, and also took some Paracetamol and a decongestant tablet. And somehow managed to get through the day. It feels like this cold is almost gone now. Maybe that "Immune Support" tea I've been drinking really has helped, though I would have preferred not to have symptoms in the first place.

No News Is Good News?

Image
Today is finally the day I get to see the Strictly Come Dancing live tour! They always leave my city so late, and it makes me feel like it's nothing but an afterthought. And how can I blame them? Things in this city have gone downhill oer the years, such as having fountains that they can't afford to actually turn on anymore and also can't afford to demolish so instead it's stuck there as a great big toilet for pigeons. Anyway I initially wasn't interesting in going because my favourite professional dancer's partner was unable to take part and I doubed he'd get to stand in for any of the other pros like he did last year (and even then it wasn't planned), until it was announced that because they had trouble getting enough people from the most recent series to take part, they brought back one of his previous partners who is not only great at dancing but who he also became good friends with. Since I'd missed all my other chances to see both of them danci...

A Change In Fashion?

Image
The biggest thing I'm insecure about when it comes to my body shape is my sticking-out backside. Even after losing a bit of weight to the point where it feels flatter and I can feel my bones when I sit down (I'll admit it does make a good built-in cushion), it still sticks out a bit. I've tried adjusting my posture, but it doesn't seem to do anything to make it stand out less. Because of this, and because I'm so short, it's been hard for me to find trousers that fit me right, so for years, I've worn shorts over leggings, which still hasn't helped, especially when paired with longer tops that I prefer wearing. But is it really that hard for me to find trousers that fit? Or is it just because I was only focused on jeans, which don't really have a stretchy or adjustable waistband. Maybe jeans are overrated. I just realised that the trousers my work training place gave me don't look too bad on me, they're a little bit longer than I would like but...

Tired Of These Wet Adventures

Image
I've kept forgetting my umbrella most of the time, or not being bothered enough to go and get it before I leave. But this time, after I heard about the weather today, I took it with me to help to protect against the wind. But the wind won. My umbrella got turned inside out a few times, and then broken. The top of it came off the pole, and it didn't look like there was a way to re-attach it. So for the rest of my little walk down to where I go for work training, I was cold and wet, my hands were freezing, and I was holing a broken umbrella that I couldn't use to protect me from the wind anymore. And even worse, I got splashed by a bus because I didn't see there was a puddle where it was driving until it was too late. Then when I got there, I found out this weather was because of another one of those named storms. Apparently called Storm Chandra. I was like "Now you tell me, I didn't hear anything about it being a storm!" I thought it was just bad weather. I...

Toe Pain

Image
I don't know if you can look at a bigger version of this picture or not. It'll be on my Bluesky and Tumblr if not. CONTENT WARNING: Blood.  So this morning I had a pain in one of my toes. I thought maybe it was just an ingrown nail, and I could sort it out later by cutting them. But then when I got home after a long day of walking around, doing garden-related work, and possibly or possibly not getting dirt in my shoes, I got ready for a shower, took my socks off, and there was blood. Turns out I'd somehow (no idea how) cut the side of one of my toes and it had bled all day. I wiped away the blood, had the shower, then put antiseptic cream on the toe, and then a plaster. I hope it's alright. Now I can't help but worry that it's gotten badly infected and has infected my blood and I'll get seriously ill.

A Small Wet Adventure

Image
Not that kind of wet!!! Can't I use certain words without them being interpreted in an inappropriate way?  Anyway, today I went out to a park because I wanted to go somewhere with some uphill areas that wasn't the local woods, and it was raining a lot. I thought I'd be fine because my coat has a hood, but it clearly wasn't enough and the coat that was supposed to be waterproof got soaked. So I wanted to go along a different path, one of those shortcut paths, so that I'd be slightly more sheltered from the rain. I say slightly because at this time of year the trees have no leaves on them so they don't shelter you as much from the rain as they do in summer. So I spent ages walking around the trees while trying not to slip, and ended up finding myself at some dead ends. I didn't want to go all the way back the way I came, though, so I kept looking for other paths that could help me get back onto the main path, while I wasn't getting any dryer. At least I go...

The Floor Is Missing

Image
First day of things being done to the house, I went out to my grandparen'ts house because I haven't seen them in a while and I didn't want to have to hear loud noises of saws and drills all day, and then came back to find most of the living room floor was missing, there's just pieces of wood and bricks under there.  But anyway, I also drew this:
