Prophetic Dreams

I have been known to have prophetic dreams before. That is, I'll dream about something happening, and then it will happen in real life. Maybe not in exactly the same way as it did in the dream, but still with enough similarity. The first instance of this I remember was back in primary school. There was this period of time where on a certain day every other week, my class would have a different teacher in the morning, and our lessons would overrun into break time (I don't remember the exact reason why, I think because one of them was PE), so we'd end up having our break time at a different time to the other classes to make up for it. There was another class that would go through this on a different week to us. The first time it happened, I got really stressed about it until I was assured we'd still get our full break time, but I still didn't like the change in routine. Anyway, at one point, it was the week where the other class was meant to be going through this. But...

No Shows

My Dad is still complaining about there not being much to watch on TV. I feel bad because I didn't want him to have BBC One on while the final of Gladiators was on while I was still downstairs because I was going to be too busy to watch all of it tonight (too bad they only release the episodes on iPlayer early if its usual airing timeslot is postponed), but there was nothing else on at that time and he said he didn't really want to watch the only new episode he hadn't seen yet of one of the shows he watches on streaming because then he'd have nothing to watch another time, but ended up watching it today anyway. I don't know what other kind of entertainment he would enjoy. I've got the internet and video games, he seems to only like TV and podcasts. Is it really my responsibility to find something for him, though? I still feel bad about earlier, I think he understands that I'd rather not see part of an episode when I'm too busy to watch it live because it...

Nothing Interesting On

Image
Something my Dad is bothered about is how there aren't many interesting TV shows on most evenings at the moment, or new episodes of shows released on streaming services. Monday has the Quiz shows, but one of the three they usually have on has finished, while the other two are close to finishing, and then we'll have to go a few months without those before they start up again. And then there's not much on the other days either. I've not got many shows to be invested in at the moment, and I have other ways I can entertain myself, so it never really bothered me when there was nothing interesting on. I don't know what my Dad could do to be less bored in the evenings.

Uncertainty

People are panicking right now over these supposed reports about the producers at Strictly Come Dancing actually being ruthless for the first time in years and dropping certain professional dancers. I wasn't too worried about my fave at first, but now it seems uncertain as to whether he will survive the cull or not. On the one hand, the pro lineup had gotten too big because many of them didn't want to leave on their own accord, and it's good if they're trying to reduce the number of pros on the bench (which would probably go back to 0 is not for having to take same sex partnerships into account). But on the other, quite a few of the ones who have supposedly been axed or given a lesser role are those who people thought haven't had much of a chance to shine, and because of that they haven't connected well with viewers, which is more likely to get them dropped. Anyway, I hope this all gets cleared up soon, and it turns out my fave is safe. I started watching the la...

Availability

Work training today was alright, even if I was tired because I'm not used to getting up and going out early on Fridays. I spoke to someone I didn't get to speak to that much, and we have a common interest (namely, she'd been to the Strictly tour the same night I had). The only reason I don't usually do Monday, Wednesday, Friday is because Friday seems to be the only day my Gran is available for lunch, so I need to leave it free. Even though she's retired now, she still seems busy. I did think about maybe seeing about doing Monday, Tuesday, Friday, but then I remembered one of the restaurants we like to go to is closed on Wednesdays during the day. Maybe Monday? I don't know what she does on Mondays. I might need to talk to her about availability next time I see her.

Yet Another Wet adventure

I really am getting tired of all the clouds and rain now. I want the clear skies back!!! Anyway, last night I got worried because there was a bit of a miscommunication when I tried telling my Mum which buses to get, turns out the nearest bus stop to where she lives isn't in use because the road is closed, so she had to walk all the way to the bus stop near where the shop where she used to work. I told her 2 different bus times, but the way I worded it was saying that one was "at the same time" as the bus that she could have caught from her usual stop if it was in use. So she got the later bus. I was already worried enough, but then got even more worried when I sent another text asking where she was and she said she'd only just gotten on the bus. The bus that was supposed to come 9 minutes ago. And it was so late that according to the bus network app, there was another bus coming right after it. I panicked a lot, and someone noticed and asked what was wrong. So I told ...

No News Is Good News?

Today is finally the day I get to see the Strictly Come Dancing live tour! They always leave my city so late, and it makes me feel like it's nothing but an afterthought. And how can I blame them? Things in this city have gone downhill oer the years, such as having fountains that they can't afford to actually turn on anymore and also can't afford to demolish so instead it's stuck there as a great big toilet for pigeons. Anyway I initially wasn't interesting in going because my favourite professional dancer's partner was unable to take part and I doubed he'd get to stand in for any of the other pros like he did last year (and even then it wasn't planned), until it was announced that because they had trouble getting enough people from the most recent series to take part, they brought back one of his previous partners who is not only great at dancing but who he also became good friends with. Since I'd missed all my other chances to see both of them danci...

Still January For Now

We're over halfway through the month already? It feels like it's been slower than that. Today is actually my Mum's birthday. I kept forgetting to write her card and send it, so I ended up not doing so until Thursday, and yet it arrived the next day accoding to the text she sent me. I guess that's first class stamps for you. Hopefully if nothing comes up, we'll be going to the Strictly Come Dancing Live Tour. I almost didn't want to go because I thought my favourite professional dancer wouldn't be partnered for it (he wasn't meant to be last year but one of the other dancers had an injury so he got to stand in), but it turns out one of his previous partners is going to be there because they were having so much trouble getting celebrities from the most recent series to take part that they not only had to bring in someone from 2 yeasr ago but also have 2 of the others not be able to do all the tour dates. Anyway, I'm glad I have a chance to see my favou...

Going For It

So, following on from my last post, I finally started watching this year's series of the Traitors. I'm hooked now. I think I can be caught up by tomorrow, unless there's another episode tomorrow night. Anyway, I needed some more space so I'm at my Gran's house, though I think I will have my room mostly back by Sunday. I say mostly because I'll need to have some other stuff in there because the other doors upstairs are going to be replaced. But hopefully I should be able to move the bed in order to make some more space.

A Trap Of My Own

I thought this year I should finally start watching that Traitors show. But the thing is, I've just been so busy lately, and the episodes are an hour long, and if I want to get through them all I'd rather do it on the same day or over 2 days, but the longer I keep putting it off, the more episodes there are to get through... I will do it eventually, maybe tomorrow. I guess I've got all weekend to catch up. (I only mean the current series, by the way, not every single episode of the UK version).

A Lesson I Learned

My most "Guilty pleasure" TV show would be the Masked Singer (UK). Most of the time, when the celebrities are revealed, I'm like "Who?" but I keep watching for the of-chance that it is someone I actually know of (usually after completely failing to pick up on the clues. Now, I was away in London over Christmas and I was too busy to have time to watch the Christmas special right away. Which wouldn't be too much of a problem, except one account I follow on Twitter was posting spoilers. And I'm an impatient person, I still wanted to look at my Twitter feed, I have a custom feed because there were certain accounts that clog up my main feed but I don't want to unfollow them. But the problem is, Twitter's filter system ONLY works for the main feed. Which I learned the hard way when I saw a post from that account and I looked away too late and already saw a celebrity's name and their costume name. So that put me off watching for the next several day...
