A Small Wet Adventure
Not that kind of wet!!! Can't I use certain words without them being interpreted in an inappropriate way?
Anyway, today I went out to a park because I wanted to go somewhere with some uphill areas that wasn't the local woods, and it was raining a lot. I thought I'd be fine because my coat has a hood, but it clearly wasn't enough and the coat that was supposed to be waterproof got soaked. So I wanted to go along a different path, one of those shortcut paths, so that I'd be slightly more sheltered from the rain. I say slightly because at this time of year the trees have no leaves on them so they don't shelter you as much from the rain as they do in summer.
So I spent ages walking around the trees while trying not to slip, and ended up finding myself at some dead ends. I didn't want to go all the way back the way I came, though, so I kept looking for other paths that could help me get back onto the main path, while I wasn't getting any dryer.
At least I got to see some nice scenery.
Soon I found myself near an area I recognised, but I still couldn't get out because there was a bit of a trench in between, and the rain was heavy enouh to fill it with water. And I still needed to find an opening in the trees. Eventually, I did find an opening, but I was worried about slipping (it was very muddy as well), so I grabbed onto the branch of a nearby plant to get down.
But now there was the problem of getting up on the other side. It was too steep for me to just run up, and too slippery as well, it was just an accident waiting to happen. I tried to look around for some plants to grab onto, and thankfully I did manage to find one. So then I grabbed onto it while I climbed out, while hoping the force wouldn't cause me to break what I was holding onto. Thankfully it didn't!!! I felt proud of myself for overcoming a physical challenge, and for being smart enough to use the environment around me.
Anyway, that was my small wet adventure that I had today. After that I went to the cafe for some much needed tea and some lunch, and it wasn't busy, though I should have really expected that. They didn't even ask me if I wanted it to take away, they must have assumed no one wanted to take out anything in that weather.
Oh, and I also drew this when I got home.
